3 The Bible Reading for this morning is: John 15:5-8

4 1 Corinthians 11:23-26 (NKJV) 23 For I received from the Lord that which I also delivered to you: that the Lord Jesus on the same night in which He was betrayed took bread; 24 and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, "Take, eat; this is My body which is broken for you; do this in remembrance of Me." 25 In the same manner He also took the cup after supper, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in My blood. This do, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me." 26 For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord's death till He comes.

11 Personal Evangelism Why Reach the Lost?

12 IT is commanded ! Why Reach the Lost? All of them!
Which commands of the Lord must we keep? All of them! Mark 16:15, Heb. 5:12; Matt. 28:19-20 Col. 1:23 Matthew 28:18-20 (NKJV) 18  And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19  Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20  teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Amen. Hebrews 5:12 (NKJV) 12  For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the first principles of the oracles of God; and you have come to need milk and not solid food. Colossians 1:23 (NKJV) 23  if indeed you continue in the faith, grounded and steadfast, and are not moved away from the hope of the gospel which you heard, which was preached to every creature under heaven, of which I, Paul, became a minister. Mark 16:15 (NKJV) 15  And He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.

13 IT is commanded ! We must bear fruit John 15:1-2, 5-8
Why Reach the Lost? Matthew 5:13 (NKJV) 13  "You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men. John 15:5-8 (NKJV) 5  I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. 6  If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. 7  If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. 8  By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples. 1 Peter 2:9 (NKJV) 9  But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; IT is commanded ! We must bear fruit John 15:1-2, 5-8 As priests, we proclaim the praises of Him, 1 Peter 2:9 Matthew 5:13 John 15:1-2 (NKJV) 1  "I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. 2  Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit.

14 1 Corinthians 11:1 (NKJV) 1 Imitate me, just as I also imitate Christ.
Why Reach the Lost? Because We Follow Jesus 1 Cor. 11:1, 1 Pet. 2:21 His mission, Luke 19:10, Matt. 9:12-13 He went to everyone – Zacchaeus, Samaritan woman, sinners, and tax collectors, etc. Luke 19:10 (NKJV) 10  for the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost." 1 Corinthians 11:1 (NKJV) 1  Imitate me, just as I also imitate Christ. 1 Peter 2:21 (NKJV) 21  For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow His steps:

15 Because it is what the first century church did!
Why Reach the Lost? Because it is what the first century church did! Acts 8:4 1 Thess. 1:8 Jerusalem increased from 3000 to many by men teaching others Acts 5:42 Acts 5:42 (NKJV) 42  And daily in the temple, and in every house, they did not cease teaching and preaching Jesus as the Christ. Acts 8:4 (NKJV) 4  Therefore those who were scattered went everywhere preaching the word. 1 Thessalonians 1:8 (NKJV) 8  For from you the word of the Lord has sounded forth, not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but also in every place. Your faith toward God has gone out, so that we do not need to say anything.

16 To preserve the TRUE church
Why Reach the Lost? To preserve the TRUE church While only God can add to His church, He expects us to plant the seed The pattern of the NT ALWAYS involved teaching others Every example of conversion involved teaching Will the true church exist for our children and grandchildren?

17 1 John 4:19 (NKJV) 19 We love Him because He first loved us.
Why Reach the Lost? Because I Love God 1 John 4:19 When we love Him, we keep His commandments. 1 John 5:2-3 Can you think of a better way to show your love for Him than to tell others? Matt. 5:16, John 15:8, we want to glorify Him John 15:8 (NKJV) 8  By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples. Matthew 5:16 (NKJV) 16  Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven. 1 John 5:2-3 (NKJV) 2  By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and keep His commandments. 3  For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome. 1 John 4:19 (NKJV) 19  We love Him because He first loved us.

18 Because I Care! Why Reach the Lost? The world is dying and is lost.
Acts 17:16, 2 Thess. 1:8-9 That ought to stir our souls We are to love others – James 2:8, Matt. 5:44 Matthew 5:44 (NKJV) 44  But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, James 2:8 (NKJV) 8  If you really fulfill the royal law according to the Scripture, "You shall love your neighbor as yourself," you do well; Acts 17:16 (NKJV) 16  Now while Paul waited for them at Athens, his spirit was provoked within him when he saw that the city was given over to idols. 2 Thessalonians 1:8-9 (NKJV) 8  in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God, and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9  These shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power,

19 Because I Care! Will we “pay it forward”? Why Reach the Lost?
If we love them we will care, 2 Cor. 5:11 Paul, Romans 1:14-17 Are we grateful for the one who taught us? Will we “pay it forward”? Romans 1:14-15 (NKJV) 14  I am a debtor both to Greeks and to barbarians, both to wise and to unwise. 15  So, as much as is in me, I am ready to preach the gospel to you who are in Rome also. 2 Corinthians 5:11 (NKJV) 11  Knowing, therefore, the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are well known to God, and I also trust are well known in your consciences.

20 So that I will grow! 2 Pet. 3:18 Proverbs 11:30 Why Reach the Lost?
We grow through study, prayer, and application. We grow when we share the word with others 1 Peter 3:15 Proverbs 11:30 Proverbs 11:30 (NKJV) 30  The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, And he who wins souls is wise. 1 Peter 3:15 (NKJV) 15  But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear; 2 Peter 3:18 (NKJV) 18  but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory both now and forever. Amen.

21 For the Joy it Brings Luke 15:7, 1 Tim. 2:4 Acts 16:34, 8:39
Why Reach the Lost? For the Joy it Brings God rejoices; Angels rejoice Luke 15:7, 1 Tim. 2:4 Those who obey will rejoice Acts 16:34, 8:39 We will rejoice cf. Phil. 4:1 Philippians 4:1 (NKJV) 1  Therefore, my beloved and longed-for brethren, my joy and crown, so stand fast in the Lord, beloved. Luke 15:7 (NKJV) 7  I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just persons who need no repentance. 1 Timothy 2:4 (NKJV) 4  who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

22 What am I doing to reach the lost?
