This process is called political socialization The biggest and most influential source that people learn about politics is their parents People also become politically socialized through school as well as peers Another common medium by which people learn about politics is the media Institute of political socialization (i.e. school) Common Tool used by Government to politically brainwash (socialize) young Americans (i.e. T.V.)

Public opinion starts with the people Public opinion is transmitted through linkage institutions (the way that people concerns become political issues on the public agenda) Public opinion is measured by the technique of random sampling (choosing people at random to poll about public opinion Public opinion can result in public officials putting to much emphasis on public opinion and doing what is liked instead of what is right Public opinion can be manipulated by incumbents to ensure reelection Public Governator
