Start by entering the name of your high school, or, if appropriate, click on “Home Schooled” at the top of the list.

Fill out your profile by entering your basic information. All items marked ** must be completed. Check the authorization box at the bottom, and if all is correct, click “submit”.
Once this page has been submitted, you will receive an that will verify your user name, and direct you to the student dashboard to establish your password.

To convert percentages to a 4.0 scale, click the box “My school does not calculate GPA on a 4.0 scale.”

Class rank is used along with GPA to measure academic progress.
If you school ranks students, you will need to indicate the system used.
If your school does not rank students, select “No” and leave the rest blank.

21. Financial Information
In order to be considered for need-based scholarships, you need to have financial info in your profile. Almost all of our scholarships are need based.
For 2014, Gettysburg Area Dollars for Scholars will accept only method 3.
If you do not want to be eligible for need-based scholarships, you can click the link at the top of the page. Clicking will not change your eligibility for our few merit-only scholarships.

22. Student Profile: Essays
Provide a word essay on your “goals and aspirations”; be complete and far reaching in your essay.
Provide word essay on “unusual circumstances” you may have experienced in your life and how your life has been affected by those circumstances.
DO NOT FEEL LIMITED BY THE CURRENT SIZE OF THE BOXES; they will take whatever you write! Be complete. These essays are worth 10% of your overall score!

After completing your profile as much as possible, you can begin your scholarship search simply by logging in. You will be brought back to this page. Clicking on the link circled here will search our data base for local and national scholarships for which you may be eligible. You should come back periodically and click again since new scholarships may have come available. And make sure to do during the last week before our application process closes.
