LubeWatch® Oil Analysis Program
Program Overview
2
Benefits of Fluid Analysis
Identify minor problems before they major failures – monitoring trends in wear and contamination can help prevent catastrophic failures Extend drain intervals – fluid changes should be performed when the condition of the fluid requires them, reducing unnecessary labor costs Extend equipment life – monitoring system cleanliness can help reduce repair and replacement costs and enables you to keep equipment longer Maximize asset reliability – scheduling downtime according to your schedule can eliminate unforeseen decreases in production Being able to see exactly what’s happening inside an engine, hydraulic system, or differential enables your customer to: Identify minor problems before they become major failures Extend equipment life Maximize asset reliability Reduce downtime of costly equipment

Features of LubeWatch Oil Analysis
Wide variety of specialized testing options Reliable interpretation of test results with actionable maintenance recommendations 24-48 turnaround time for most routine testing Advanced technical services including component failure and/or wear particle analysis Expert training and field support Added assurance of oil and system integrity when running an extended oil drain interval program The LubeWatch Oil Analysis Program is a diagnostic, preventive maintenance tool that uses fluid testing to monitor and evaluate lubricant and equipment condition in all types of mobile and industrial applications.
4
Sampling Best Practices
Take samples under normal operating conditions or after shutdown while still at operating temperature Take samples at regularly scheduled intervals Take samples from the same sampling point each time Samples should be taken at regularly scheduled intervals and from the same sampling point each time. How critical a piece of equipment is to production is a major consideration for determining sampling frequency, as are environmental factors such as hot, dirty operating conditions, short trips with heavy loads and excessive idle times.
5
Component Registration Form
Step 1 Fill out form completely and accurately Use ONLY for first-time samples or changes in unit or fluid information previously submitted Place in the black mailer with the sample jar A Component Registration Form is included with each kit. Fill it out only when sampling a unit for the first time or to submit changes in component or fluid information. Remember, complete and up-to-date information ensures that you receive the proper testing and an accurate analysis of the results. Be sure to include this Component Registration Form in the mailer with your sample jar.
6
Sample Labels Step 2 Fill out the sample jar label completely and accurately Include unit ID, type and position Include time on fluid and unit, note oil added or changed Attach label to sample jar Complete sample tracking sticker and retain Complete a sample jar label for every sample submitted to the laboratory. Be sure to fill out all label information completely and accurately to make sure the sample is given the proper testing and you receive accurate, in-depth analysis. Attach the completed label to the sample bottle, place the sample bottle and Component Registration Form (if applicable) in the shipping container, fill in the unit’s ID on the removable tracking number sticker located to the right of the sample label and retain it for your records.
7
Shipping Samples to the Laboratory
Step 3 Take representative sample Complete and attached the return address label to the black mailer Include sample jar and component registration form, if needed, in black mailer Ship by trackable delivery service such as Fedex or UPS Track sample progress through laboratory at Complete the return address label for the laboratory nearest you and attach it to the shipping container. Apply the appropriate postage and ship it to your laboratory using a trackable shipping service. Log onto enter the tracking number just below the barcode on the sample sticker you retained to track your sample’s progress once it arrives at the laboratory.

Test Reports & Data Management
Step 4 Get test results almost immediately Keep samples on track Identify bottlenecks in sample turnaround time Influence future purchasing decisions Affect positive change in daily maintenance practices The LubeWatch Oil Analysis Program’s free online reporting option, HORIZON®, is fast, bringing you test results almost immediately after processing is complete. HORIZON® Management Reports allow you to affect positive changes in your daily maintenance practices by keeping sampling on track, identifying bottlenecks in turnaround time that are costing you money and summarizing unit problems that could be affecting your production. Control over an extensive host of personal application settings and preferences gives you the power to put the information you need most in front of you first. Go to to set up your HORIZON® account.
9
HORIZON® Test data available via internet every 10 minutes
Reports ed with commenting & graphing Settings that can be set or changed by the user Several management report options available LubeWatch test results are accessible through HORIZON®, a web-based software application that will show you how to get the most from your testing results and analysis. Results are free and available almost immediately after sample processing is complete. Log on at
