2 JOINT HAZARD ASSESSMENT TEAM (JHAT)
JHAT Purpose: provide sweeps and monitoring for hazards at events US Secret Service has been conducting sweeps and monitoring at VIP events for decades Over the last 10 years JHATS have developed to include several other specialized agencies

2004 & 2008 Democratic and Republican National Conventions Sweeps of venues and routes WMD/HAZMAT responders 2013 Boston Marathon Civil Support Teams on-sight Presence of the JHATs allowed for effective response to the attack.
