2 Project Overview A Discharge Monitor Reading is required for Ingram Readymix Inc. A completed sample required once a month Collected sample within the first fifteen minutes of outfall -Michael [Alison: What is discharge monitor reading? The Ingram Readymix Inc. ongoing methodology in sampling discharge is for employees have to manually monitor the rainfall for at least fifteen minutes and collect the Discharge Monitor Sample within the first thirty minutes. This leads to reduced productivity level and shift of work focus of the employees. The current method generates the need of an automated Rainfall Detection Sensor and Alert System. The new system will utilize a rainfall sensor to alert an employee to collect the samples. Our system will prevent problems that can occur with the discharge of pollution into the environment which

3 Project Overview We designed an integrated stand alone systems with multiple features: Collect outfall, pool level, rainfall, and voltage level on RDS Receive and send data between RDS and RAS Alert visually and auditorily Ingram workers to collect a sample Log and display data on RAS -Michael [Alison: What is discharge monitor reading? 5 Project Motivation Current method of discharge monitoring is through Visual inspection and Manual timing Discharge into city waste lines can lead to company problems: Environmental Legal Company Closure Michael Motivation: Current process lacks technology and automation

6 Top-Level Sensor System Block Diagram
Power Battery from Solar Panel Legend Team Charlie Read Voltage level from Battery Analog to Digital Converter Team Bravo Read rain gauge value Send Data Receive Data Log File Michael You may need to show this block diagram more than once to provide context. You may also need to add a block diagram of the next level of detail where relevant. Read flow sensor value Analog to Digital Converter Read Liquid Level Sensor Value

7 Sensors Pool Level Sensor: Variable resistivity due to change in pool level Flow Meter: Signals if water flow has occurred Rain Gauge: Each tip of the lever is 0.011”

12 System Quality Usability: Buttons and LCD screen user interaction of RDA system Maintainability: Software hosted on github Scalability: Multithreaded system to handle incorporation of add on sensors Reliability: Backup power system and able to recognize collection state Security: Wooden Enclosed case Portability: System can be implemented on multiple sites of Ingram Readymix Alison State them and according

13 Features Visually and auditorily alert the user
Outfall and low voltage via buzzers and Sense hat module Integrate multi-button system which includes: Restart Complete Missed Mute Taylor different slide to show the different colors of the led matrix different slide to show the buttons fix the feature screen

14 Low Voltage in RDS Collection Sample missed Collection Sample collected and Idle state RDA System invoked by the RDS

18 Features LCD Touchscreen to display data via CSV file:
Start and end time of rainfall Amount of rainfall in inches Pool Level Outfall Status Hours of operation Taylor BRIEFLY summarize the results of your work – and what your design will do. USE GRAPHICS and PICTURES! Be visual!! Add slides if need be!!

19 Remediations Alarm system is able to receive data from Rainfall Detector system’s transceiver within 600 feet Able to be self-powered (with backup battery) even with emergency outage scenario self-powered for 3 hours Added an exhaust fan to the Rainfall Detection System Incorporate Transmission Time graph

20 Future Work Implement hands free/voice command technology via Amazon Echo Implement pH testing at the overflow pool Incorporat a printer for the hardcopy documentation of the data Taylor
