7. General Information on Huachuma-Sapo/Kambo
This medicine comes from a particular jungle tree frog’s venom. It is harvested and applied by inflicting small burns onto the patient and placing a small amount of this venom on the burn. While this may seem scary, it is very safe and complimentary to the practice of Ayahuasca. It strengthens your immune system, has antibiotic properties, works as a detoxification of the liver, and of the entire digestive system.

Although Sapo is a very intense experience, the effect lasts for less than 30 minutes and it is an incredibly cleansing medicine. Many people report feeling rejuvenated, refreshed and energized.
