1 Year 6 Residential 2017 Mill RYTHE, HAMPSHIRE

2 Where are we going?

3

4 Focus. Teamwork. Self-development. Communication skills.
Managing feelings. Negotiating. Problem solving. Confidence building. Co-ordinating skills. Physical challenge. Rule-bound activities.

5 Behavioural Expectations
Children may be allocated external rooms, which, for safety purposes are locked from the inside (the centre has keys). However, these mean that it is possible for children to open their door to the outside. As a consequence, it will be stressed to the children that they are to stay in their rooms. Children and parents have signed a behavioural agreement, which will be read to them and reiterated at the start of the trip. It would be useful to go through this again with your child beforehand – if they breach this, then you may be asked to come and collect them early. (Please ask if you need another copy).

6 Getting there…Monday 12th June
Depart BOA: 08:48 Arrive at Havant: 10:55 We’ll meet at 08:15 am at Bradford- on-Avon railway station – it is not likely to be busy, but do car share if you can! Please be punctual – we cannot wait if you miss the train!

7 Getting Back….Friday 16th June
Depart Havant: 14:19 Arrive BOA: 16:22 JCA provide a packed lunch on the return trip. Please be punctual collecting children – they don’t want to be the last to be collected. Children are likely to be tired and in need of a relaxing bath! The school week will begin as usual on the 19th June.

8 What you need to pack… Kit list enclosed.
Be prepared for light and cold. Please don’t pack anything precious, or that you expect to see returned in an immaculate condition. Pocket money – no more than £10, in £1/£2 coins please. We will collect pocket money in envelopes from parents at the station and allocate no more than £2 per day from each child’s envelope. Please leave electrical items at home – no iPods, phones, cameras etc. Any found will be confiscated and returned to adults on pick up on the Friday. Label, label, label…make sure everything is named! Even if you’re expecting it back, please ensure we know who it belongs to as it takes time to find owners! Biro is fine if desperate!

A letter can be packed secretly into your child’s bag, or given to me prior to departure for your child to read while they are away. Small treats (cakes/biscuits),which can be shared are useful for night time –they can be shared over the week – please try and avoid massive bags of Haribos! Please make sure medical details, and any sleeping or friendship issues are updated before we set off. Teddies etc. are fine – but your child needs to take responsibility for their belongings. Please hand labelled medication to me on the morning of departure, along with a completed and signed medicine administration form, detailing doses and timings.

13 Non-residential Leavers’ book – if you have any photos of your child’s first day at Winsley, please bring in/ to me.
