What are they? Carbs are compounds made of carbon (C), hydrogen (H), & oxygen (O) CHO

Monosaccharides (monomers)
Simple sugars C:H:O are in a 1:2:1 ratio Examples: Glucose – energy for cells Fructose – makes fruit sweet Galactose – sugar in milk

All are written C6H12O6 Their structures are different! Same chemical formula, but different structural formula
