Using the perfect infinitive
The perfect infinitive is formed with the infinitive of avoir/être + past participle. It is often used with après to mean ‘after having done / after doing.’ __________________ le château, ils ont décidé d’y retourner bientôt. Other uses of the perfect infinitive - translate the following into English. Je regrette d’avoir perdu le dépliant. - Ils ont reconstruit le bâtiment sans avoir fini l’accueil. Il a été félicité pour avoir trouvé une solution au problème de la sur-fréquentation. I regret losing the leaflet. They rebuilt the building without having finished the reception area. He was congratulated for having found a solution to the problem of over visiting.
