Brown = Qualifying CBSA’s – i.e. CBSA’s that include a city with a population over 200,000
Green = in states that didn’t have a Qualifying CBSA with one of their cities, these are the CBSA’s that contain the largest city (or next largest that hasn’t already been taken/swallowed by another state’s city-CBSA, as in the cases of NJ, CT, and DE). The final city choice will be after consultation with the state forester. Goal: each state has one city with a red zone that gets measured with 200 plots.

Reminder to draw down funding on a regular basis. Money that’s older than FY 2017 or 2016, may be subject to fire borrowing
Our plan this year is to pre-pay our three big data collection partners, ME, MN, and IN with FY 2017 funds to pay for FY 2018 field work. Our other partner, SD is funded for current year work.
Working to get wood utilization in as many partnered agreements as possible. State/local employees best logistical choice to do these.

All FY 2016 and 2017 plots will have current plot sheets scanned and loaded to MIDAS with the plot data files.
Next remeasurement will have digital files available for use on the next generation tablet PDRs

Allegro 2 is our current best option for data entry.
Exploring tablets for solely displaying imagery and plot sheets and generating new digital plot and SP maps.
Tablet could replace employee’s PC to make tablet with Allegro a cost effective alternative.
Tablet requirement is a minimum 10” screen for display of imagery and plotsheets.
We plan to begin replacements of approximately 1/3 of our Allegro inventory over the next three years.
Two options: Dell Latitude 12 rugged and the Allegro 2
