Fundraising ‘Dress Down’ Friday 24 February 2017
Students who wish to participate in the Fundraising ‘Dress Down’ Friday 24 February are asked to pay £1 to come to school casually dressed. Students who do not wish to participate should come to school wearing school uniform. Monies collected will be split – Two thirds donated to charity whilst the remaining one third will go to the School Fund. This is a normal Learning and Teaching day, please remember to bring your school bag and all equipment eg PE kit.

Senior Phase Coursing Reminder to all students in S3, S4 & S5 that you must complete the Reflective Exercise you will be given through PSE (or Register class) before Coursing week begins. As you will not be pre-advised of your appointment time you must ensure that you have the Reflective Exercise with you at all times during this week so when you are given your appointment time you will have the Reflective Exercise with you. YOU WILL NOT BE COURSED IF YOU DO NOT HAVE THIS WITH YOU.

Modern Apprenticeships in Business Administration
The Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) annually recruits school leavers to its Pathways Modern Apprenticeship programme in Business and Administration. If you are enthusiastic, hard-working and committed to the challenge of work and study for up to two years then this could be the opportunity for you. During your training you will work towards an SVQ Level 3 in Business and Administration and study part time at Edinburgh College for HNC Administration and Information Technology. Requirements You should have or expect to achieve at least one Higher pass at C in English, Administration or Business Management or a group of National 5s including Administration or Business Management. In addition you must have good written and spoken communication skills and be able to demonstrate attention to detail. Open Morning The SQA is holding an information morning for prospective applicants from 10am to 12 noon on Thursday 9 March at its Headquarters at Wester Shawfair, Lowden, Dalkeith. Please let Miss Douglas, in Guidance, know if you plan to attend.

Technology Apprentice Insight Day Monday 6th March 2017
To launch National Careers Week and Scottish Apprenticeship Week, RBS will be hosting a very exciting event to give you insight about what starting your career as a Technology Apprentice will be like! Over a half day session, you will get to meet a selection of apprentices – each with a unique story to tell about how and why they came to join us, a perfect opportunity for you to ask everything you want to know about apprenticeships. We will also be running coding workshops throughout the day that will be aimed at all levels of experience; so if you are a novice and want to learn a new skill, or want to impress us with your talents – make sure you come along this event! And as well as that, we will provide you with insider tips on how to get through the recruitment process too. At RBS we understand that school leavers have lots of decisions to make, and there are lots of opportunities for you to explore!
