The Great Wildebeest Migration
A year round phenomenon BEST VIEWING TIMES July to October in Maasai Mara Highest concentration of lions anywhere in the world January to March in South Serengeti ½ million wildebeest calves are born The famous Wildebeest migration is one of the natural wonders of the animal kingdom. The exact migration pattern varies from year to year. However, traditionally the migration moves through a rain-lead grazing pattern across the Serengeti plains in Tanzania and in July/August large parts of the main herds cross the Mara river into Kenya. In late September or early October the herds cross back into Tanzania and rejoin the rest of the migration in their movement south through the Serengeti.
