1 Energy saving for home (Graduation work)
Mid-Term Report Energy saving for home (Graduation work) 8th team : T.I.D Leader : Kim sung soo Member : Kim kyu beom Kim ji woong

2 Contents Schedule Update Issues & the Approach Related Work
Design Constraints System Design Related Work Experimental Setup Expected Results References Update

3 Schedule Update March April May June July Make a Plan Product design
Purchase Materials Make Hardware Make Software Inspection Performance Improvement Maintenance

4 Issues & the Approach Price of a ZigBee chip : 26,500 won
Design Constraints – Economy Price of a ZigBee chip : 26,500 won Price of a ATmega : 40,000 won Price of a Relay switch : 11,000 won If you want to control much more, the price will be higher.

5 Issues & the Approach Design Constraints – Ethics
Our project must follow the rules below. ( - Electronics Engineering graduate work rules) Design Constraints – Reliability - The chip can be initialized while using the ZigBee chip. - So it is necessary to adjust the number of transmission time intervals and the node.

6 Issues & the Approach Design Constraints – Esthetics
Since controlling the outlet in the relay switch, it is not good to display. So it installed on the inside of the wall so that the relay is not visible.

7 Issues & the Approach System Design - Block Diagram SmartPhone
Atmega128 DC Motor Relay Switch Bluetooth signal Lamp Zigbee signal Valve Outlet

8 Issues & the Approach System Design – Hardware Configuration
- AVR Part Bluetooth, Zigbee, Atmega 128 - Lamp Part Zigbee, Lamp - Outlet Part Zigbee, Relay Switch, Outlet - Valve Part Zigbee, DC Motor, Valve

9 Issues & the Approach System Design – Software Configuration
- SmartPhone Part Android Studio : Making App. - AVR Part Atmel Studio : Making Source - Zigbee Part HyperTerminal : Set to ZigBee.

10 Related Work Previous work This device use remote control.
Transmission distance is limited by the remote control. Because the infrared system, it get in the way an obstacle. output rotating part  Power LED  Register button Power button  Select button

11 Technical Advancement
Zigbee Instead of using the IR, ZigBee complements the limitations of distance. If there is an obstacle it is also possible communication. Smartphone Easily manage the control product with a smart phone. This can be controlled without remote control.

12 Experimental Setup Software - Android Studio : Develop Android apps. - Atmel Studio : Programming code in AVR - HyperTerminal : Setting a Zigbee chip using the serial communication.

13 Experimental Setup Hardware - SmartPhone : Using the application transmits a signal via Bluetooth to AVR. - Atmega128 : The signal transmitted from the smart phone receives via Bluetooth. Then the signal is transmitted to each device via the ZigBee. - Zigbee chip : The transmit and receive signals between the device and the AVR. - Bluetooth Chip : The transmit and receive signals between the smartphone and the AVR.

14 Experimental Setup Hardware - DC Motor : Controlling the valve in accordance with the signal received through the Zigbee chip. - Relay Switch : Controlling the outlet in accordance with the signal received through the Zigbee chip.

15 Expected Results It is linked to smart phones and ATmega in Bluetooth.
Run the application to control the product. It sends a signal to the ATmega through the Bluetooth in the app. ATmega and products communicate via ZigBee. It operates the product in the received signal in ZigBee.
