1 Newspapers

2 Today we are going to look at:
Newspapers and newspaper articles. Try to create a newspaper article.

3 There are two main types of newspaper:
TABLOID - The Sun (Small pages, short stories and photographs. Stories are often about celebrities and are sensational and unreliable.) BROADSHEET - The Guardian (Large pages, longer stories and very few pictures. Stories are often about serious issues and are more fact based and formal.)

4 Examples of Tabloid and Broadsheet

5 All newspapers have: A Logo – Newspaper name.
Date and price – When it was printed and how much it costs to buy. A Headline – Main story. Columns – How the writing is set out. And can include: Pictures and captions – picture to do with the story and short writing explaining it. An advert or info on what’s inside the paper- Advertising for a product or some of the other storylines.

7 Using this format… Create a tabloid newspaper front page article .
Remember to include a Newspaper name, Headline, Columns of writing, a picture – anything else to make it look like a real newspaper!
