Recap Quiz: Why is ED&I important whichever topic you have chosen?
What is the connection between working in partnership and ED&I? What are the differences between the Scottish Curriculum for Excellence and the English Curriculum for Early Years? Which would you choose for YOUR child? Note that these relate to the Los of the last session Question 1: because it is fundamental to all of them Question 2: it is imperative to involve the parents and the child in order to be fully inclusive. Remember trying to be non judgemental and listening to the parents’ concerns as well as hearing the child’s voice. Question 3: they need to be able to answer this for the assignment so do not just give them the answer, they spent time looking at it last week. One major difference is that the curriculum for excellence goes all the way up to senior school (and therefore is better for transitions but possibly less specific to the earlier ages) Another is that they specifically include the Arts (unlike us who are now so heavily concentrating on English and Maths) . Similarity in other things however they need to look at their own topic to see where the differences occur, e.g. British Values/Scottish ones? With five year old reciting in Scots etc. Question 4: they need to justify this. If its not good enough for your child what makes it good enough for anyone else’s, link to ethics

What do we mean by evidence? How can we judge its reliability? Where to look? Question 1: Q and A and say where have you looked before? Think about comparisons here and see if they come up with the PISA tests. Question 2: discuss sources and ask ‘what do we mean by reliability?’ Question 3: should you just Google?
