Question 1: because it is fundamental to all of them
Question 2: it is imperative to involve the parents and the child in order to be fully inclusive. Remember trying to be non judgemental and listening to the parents’ concerns as well as hearing the child’s voice.
Question 3: they need to be able to answer this for the assignment so do not just give them the answer, they spent time looking at it last week. One major difference is that the curriculum for excellence goes all the way up to senior school (and therefore is better for transitions but possibly less specific to the earlier ages) Another is that they specifically include the Arts (unlike us who are now so heavily concentrating on English and Maths) . Similarity in other things however they need to look at their own topic to see where the differences occur, e.g. British Values/Scottish ones? With five year old reciting in Scots etc.
Question 4: they need to justify this. If its not good enough for your child what makes it good enough for anyone else’s, link to ethics

Question 3: should you just Google? Remind them of the feedback on their last assignments. Who can use the online library catalogue.
