Language Help *Duolingo: Rated Top Educational App of 2013, my students love playing this “game” where they learn new vocabulary and are tested in various modes of translation. As they learn the important language, students get points to learn “fun” things like flirting in Spanish. *Spanishdict: This app is a digital dictionary for the students. STUDENTS SHOULD STILL HAVE A PHYSICAL DICTIONARY FOR CLASS. It also has some grammar help as well. *WordReference: Another great dictionary for students.

Culture Help *Univision: Have students read current news or look up stories of interest. They get to see language being actively used. *Que Rica Vida: A recipe app that is perfect for your cooking or food unit. Again, the students get to see a practical use of the language first hand.

Culture Help *LFP: What would a Spanish classroom be without the culture of fútbol. Very helpful during World Cup time and for culture projects. *Currency: Have students look up exchange rates for currency. Especially useful in the shopping unit; students can start to understand how much something really costs in a foreign country. I use this app when I travel! *Weather+: Have students track the weather in different countries. Can get them accustomed to seeing temperatures in Celsius.

Production Help *Tellagami: Students record a 30 second speech with an avatar. Helpful to practice weekly speaking credits. *Snapguide: Students can create a how-to tutorial on any subject by incorporating pictures and text. Helpful for grammar presentations.
