Vocabulary Rotate – to turn or spin on an axis
Revolve – to move in a curved path or orbit; to go around something

Orbit – the curved path that an object follows around a central object Scale – the ratio between the measurements on a map or model and the actual measurements of an object

What up, Sun? The Sun is a star – it is the largest body in the solar system The Sun is much farther away from Earth than the Moon is You can fit 109 Earths lined up across the Sun!!!!

Down to Earth Earth is larger than the Moon – you could fit almost 4 Moons lined up across the Earth Earth is tilted about 23 degrees. Earth rotates(spins) on its axis – one full rotation = 24 hours (1 day) Earth revolves around the Sun – one full revolution = days (1 year)

Moonwalkin’ The Moon orbits the Earth
It takes about a month (28 days) for the Moon to orbit (go around) the Earth
