What is Habitat for Humanity?
Travis Habitat for Humanity Campus Chapter is a nonprofit youth group of Habitat for Humanity aiming to eliminate poverty housing in the community. Our chapter was started in October 2009 by Asit Shah and since we have grown into one of the most largest clubs at Travis. Our meetings are the 2nd monday of every month after school.

What do we do? Advocate on behalf of people in need of decent shelter and for an end to poverty housing and homelessness Build and rehabilitate houses in partnership with Habitat for Humanity affiliates and homeowners Raise funds for the work of Habitat for Humanity.

What do we do? Volunteer and support our community (ReStore, Home Depot and Earth Day Events) Partner with other THS Clubs such as Green Clubs to clean Harlem Road. Campaign together for awareness and further support from our school and community.

Why join? Benefit from construction, landscaping and building experience Looks good on college applications Morally benefit by gaining the satisfaction of helping others Possible Leadership Positions Earn patches for your letterman and a cord for graduation and other awards.

Requirements Earn the designated amount of hours based upon your grade level and year of first joining. 2 builds a semester or other Habitat related events Participate in the fundraiser and raise money Attend Meetings, excessive absences will lead to removal from the organization.

Hours Requirement In order to earn Recognition for your service towards Habitat, members must fulfill the Hours requirements. Upon completion of required hours in your junior year you will receive a letterman patch and a honor cord for graduation in your senior year.

Fundraising and Goals We hope to raise more than $10,000 in fundraising this year. Last year we raised $8,000 and donated the money to efforts in Haiti. Fundraisers- Coin Box Houses, Chocolate Boxes, Candles, Donation Forms.

Applications Applications are due by Monday, September 26th. No later applications will be accepted. Please bring dues $10 mandatory and $15 optional t-shirt. Please turn in the applications before or after-school to Ms. Taracido.
