1 Four Years of O/E and we still have to laugh
Other kinds of Outreach than just getting your clients enrolled

2 Care beyond enrollment
There’s plenty to do once we get beyond the healthcare.gov website

3 Looking back The first year healthcare.gov website was a nightmare. Clients waited for hours to only have the program crash once they got their turn. The broken links, the wait for replies and the receiving of the insurance cards was a mess.

4 Wait. Wait. & Wait. How slow was the marketplace
How long our clients had to wait on cards How often we sent things in and didn’t hear back How many broken links that kept us from finishing an enrollment How many times people told us they had no income How often people wanted us to give them an appointment right then How many people call the POTUS ‘your President!’ How many times did we have to call the marketplace to get the wrong information………

5 “in- network” Dr.’s and Facilities digging in their heels against Obamacare. ‘Am I going to lose my doctor???’

6 PII and the Upload PII The Upload ability
This was what almost everyone had to do to prove their income and identity Problem: the Marketplace couldn’t find what you mailed them So you resend again… Upload button created They preferred the upload as opposed to mail The button didn’t always work or they still couldn’t put their hands on your info So you resend again..

7 Cancelled or Premium Increase
Excuses: I sent in my payment I didn’t get anything in the mail I haven’t heard from BCBS They sent me 2 cards They want more paperwork Premium Increase? Mine was supposed to be $83. My premium is now $300+ I lost my tax credit! I sent in my premium and they now say I owe 2 months prior Thanks a lot!! My premium went up

8 1095A and Tax Season Client Tax Man
Can you get me my 1095A so I can file my taxes? Why do I owe the Federal government? You are the one who did my insurance Do you know my password to healthcare.gov? Did you do your clients health insurance? Did they report all their income to you? Why didn’t I have coverage all year? Why was there 2 or more insurance accounts?

9 ‘Don’t include anyone who didn’t pay their premium’
Blue Cross Blue Shield 36 BCBS plans Silver 2 Silver 7 Silver 8 Silver 14 Silver Multi State Premium Deductible MOOP XX XX XX How did they figure that out? Was healthcare.gov actually communicating with the Insurance companies now??? After all this time? It’s only been 4 years….

10 Almost 20 million people using Obamacare!!

11 Soon nobody on Obamacare

12 Now that they are getting rid of Obamacare Now that they are getting
Colleagues Now that they are getting rid of Obamacare I thought about you this weekend ! (Jan 23) What are you going to do? Soooo, I thought your job was temporary anyway.. Now that they are getting rid of Obamacare Better start getting creative Are there other job openings in your company? Got your resume up to date? What are you going to do with all your skills now?

13 What You can do to stay busy
Keep up who is and isn’t in the network- special change/special enrollment Check with clients that you know are using their coverage (set up their BCBS health toolkit) Keep up with client’s passwords and usernames Offer to help your client with special needs for their well- being Be a referral source for helping make their life better. Keep a good relationship with the local hospitals and facilities. They often will send you clients and inform you of what is going on with changes in their network. Keep up with as many as you can seminars and conferences When you can, participate in the Webinars Remember, you can’t do it all

14 A Tweet “Did you guys know that , to a certain degree, healthcare is already free? If you don’t care about your credit score or dodging phone calls.”

15 We hope that we entertained you…
And we also wanted to be informative. We thought that making light of something important to many people would help calm our worries about the instability of the health care future and allow us to relax for a moment or two. Shantate & Kathy (Carolina Health Centers)
