STEPS 1 AND 2 STEP 1 Find a spot in the garden to create a Tea Garden Identify different sections to plant tea seedlings in, to create a cultural tea experience eg tea from India , china etc Put on gloves & mask STEP 2 Plant Lemon Balm, Chamomile, Pineapple tea seedlings into the sections Label which country the tea is from Add mulch such as straw to help retain moisture during the summer heat COPYRIGHT 2015 KARMAKIDS GROW

STEPS 3 AND 4 STEP 3 Make a wooden sign for your Tea Garden Paint sign, write the words Tea Garden on it using marker pen Place sign in garden STEP 4 Once garden is established have a tea party using the tea seedlings & dried chamomile Pick the chamomile flowers, put in a cool place to dry out for a few weeks or freeze COPYRIGHT 2015 KARMAKIDS GROW

STEP 5 Go back inside, wash hands with soap & water Discuss tea and where it is from e.g. India, Sri Lanka, China (see fact sheet) Add to Watering & Growing Chart names of children who will be looking after the tea garden Types of tea to discuss: Black tea with milk, Herbal with hot water Bring to class each of the above to show the different shapes & types (loose leaf, tea bags square& round etc) COPYRIGHT 2015 KARMAKIDS GROW
