Andy: This image represents how many Pharmacists have come to see themselves – skilled at advising and prescribing medicines, but not seeing a need to develop stronger computing or technology skills. (1 min.)

Andy: Our advisory board sought to improve technology skills of graduates. Telemedicine was on the rise – although somewhat controversial. We found a non-threatening way to prompt a conversation about growth of telemedicine, and importance of technology skills through a fellow named David Colbert. (2 min.)

Accessibility First When creating your own video content
Start by writing a script Prepare a storyboard for visually complex videos Post the script along with the video If using media studio, staff will use script to make captions When selecting video content Find media with accurate captions or transcripts Browse repositories with captioned media Annenberg Media, Khan Academy, NPR content, PBS Videos, Ted Talks

Find a video relevant to your discipline Check the captions for accuracy Obtain the “Embed” code Paste the “Embed” code into your Canvas page within the “Video Playground” site.

A repository of educational videos Available as part of state contract to all higher ed institutions Has a rotating inventory of titles (think: Netflix) Available within Canvas’s “Rich Content Editor” Most content includes accurate captioning

Recording Content from Phones/Tablets
Check the “settings” area of your device to adjust as desired Choose the “720p” or “1080p” options 720p allows for longer recording time, with good video quality 108p allows for shorter recording time, but excellent video quality 4K creates extremely large video files that can only be appreciated on select large TVs 30 fps is good for most video content Aim to keep video segments under 10 min.
