Include Reach Schools & Safety Schools Use data from Naviance, CollegeBoard.com, usnews.com, etc. Use Naviance Scattergrams to see how your student compares to previous BTHS students who have applied Example: BTHS applications for TCNJ

College Night at the Jersey Shore- October 5th, :00-8:00 pm at the Hackensack Meridan Health Arena, Toms River North (Financial Aid Seminar at 5:30- 6:30) College Visits at BTHS- sign up on Naviance Campus Visits/ Open Houses (see Guidance website calendar) Dragon Campus Tours- sign up in the Guidance Office Virtual Tours

9 Student Counselor Parent Who does what?
Request letters of rec in person AND on Naviance Complete FERPA Waiver on Common App Complete & send application Request transcripts through Naviance Communicate deadlines Provide any supplements to Counselor Student Send transcripts Send letters of recommendation Send supplemental documents Counselor Sign Transcript Release Form Sign Early Decision if Applicable Submit FAFSA (available Oct 1st 2017) Parent Note: Parents should NOT fill out applications and apply for students!

10 Teacher’s Letter of Recommendation
Ask teachers in person and give enough notice to write letters (at least 2 weeks before earliest deadline!) Complete the “Student Reflection for Teacher Recommendation Form” located in the About Me tab of Naviance Follow up with a thank you note and a “thank you” in person.

11 Counselor’s Letter of Recommendation
Complete “Brag Sheet for Counselors” form located on the About Me tab of Naviance Complete & Save Resume located in the About Me tab of Naviance Counselor to let them know both forms are complete (at least 2 weeks before earliest deadline!)

Net Price Calculator on Naviance Use Net Price Calculators to see how much the average net price of tuition changes when accounting for Financial Aid By law every school must have a net price calculator on their website Naviance also has a basic net price calculator for every school
