10 refined. Rather, I have refined you in the furnace
9 Yet for my own sake and for the honor of my name, I will hold back my anger and not wipe you out. 10 I have refined you, but not as silver is refined. Rather, I have refined you in the furnace of suffering. 11 I will rescue you for my sake— yes, for my own sake! I will not let my reputation be tarnished, and I will not share my glory with idols! --Isaiah 48:9-11 (NLT)

18 --John 4:21-25 (NASB95) ...coming [in heaven itself], and now is [here
in Jesus], when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for such people the Father seeks to be His worshipers. 24 God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” --John 4:21-25 (NASB95)

20 The Greek word used for “worship” here in John 4 is the same Greek word used in Revelation.
The word is προσκυνέω (proskuneo) and Jesus is actually removing the localized and outward connotations.

22 1 Not to us, O Lord, not to us, but to your name goes all the glory for your unfailing love and faithfulness. 2 Why let the nations say, “Where is their God?” 3 Our God is in the heavens, and he does as he wishes. 4 Their idols are merely things of silver and gold, shaped by human hands. 5 They have... (cont’d) --Psalm 115:1-8 (NLT)

23 --Psalm 115:1-8 (NLT) ...mouths but cannot speak, and eyes but
cannot see. 6 They have ears but cannot hear, and mouths but cannot breathe. 7 They have hands but cannot feel, and feet but cannot walk, and throats but cannot make a sound. 8 And those who make idols are just like them, as are all who trust in them. --Psalm 115:1-8 (NLT)
