2. Artist: Lilith Storm Lilith was born in 1999 in London, England and has lived there her entire life. She has been interested in music from a very young age because her mother is a DJ who would take her to music festivals including Glastonbury. Lilith was in her school choir and played the cello in her school orchestra. At the age of 12 she played in the BBC school proms with a large orchestra made up of small groups of student from different schools around Britain. She also played the piano and the keyboard in a band that she joined at the age of 11 who won a competition against other schools called school of rock. Although many of the band members left and new ones joined, Lilith stayed in the band for about 5 years until she left secondary school. Before leaving secondary school, she took music GCSE then left and went to City and Islington college which is where she studied media while she continued making her own music at home as well as working as a photographer. “Cure For the Itch” is an instrumental piece (it has no lyrics in it) made by Lilith and produced by Warner Brothers. In the tune the first thing that you hear is the sound of someone mixing and scratching on vinyl records on a decks as well as the voice of a male talking over it occasionally that that appears to be recorded beforehand as oppose to being an MC talking over it. This is all that you can hear at the beginning of the tune and it continues to play throughout it. 54 seconds into the track begins a deep, dark sounding cello riff that is later accompanied by another, higher sounding cello as well as a simple piano riff that plays over it a few times. Unlike many songs that don’t have lyrics such as dance and rave music, Cure For the Itch isn’t the kind of thing that you can dance to, instead it is the type of music that you can simply sit back and relax as you listen to it. This piece has about three different genres all combined into one, the first being Rock as it is quite a dark piece of music, another being classical since it uses both the piano and cello in it which gives it a classical vibe and the last being Hip Hop because of the mixing on the decks.
