Isla Fernandina Galapagos sea lion
They are often found sun bathing on beaches and rocky shores. They can also be found diving through the warm sea. The male are considerably larger than Galapagos sea lion females, with a steeply sloping forehead and raised crown, and a very thick neck when fully mature. Click here to return.

Isla San Cristobal Marine iguana
The iguana can dive over nine metres ( 30ft ) into the water to feed on algae growing on the sea bed . The Galapagos marine iguana is large and can come in different colours. During the mating season it becomes a considerably brighter colour than usual. Click here to return.

The largest of the tortoises, the cool Galapagos tortoise is incredibly long-lived. One tortoise called Lonesome George lived over 150 years . The Galapagos crabs come in many different colours. They are black or dark brown when young which is useful for helping it hide itself from its predators . It lives on the black lava coasts of the Galapagos Islands. They become a reddish colour when fully grown.
