Luke 1:26-38 (1:26-33) 26. Now in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God to a city in Galilee called Nazareth, 27. to a virgin engaged to a man whose name was Joseph, of the descendants of David; and the virgin's name was Mary. 28. And coming in, he said to her, "Greetings, favored one! The Lord is with you." 29. But she was very perplexed at this statement, and kept pondering what kind of salutation this was. 30. The angel said to her, "Do not be afraid, Mary; for you have found favor with God. 31. "And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall name Him Jesus. 32. "He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David; 33. and He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and His kingdom will have no end." Luke 1:26-38 (1:34-38) 34. Mary said to the angel, "How can this be, since I am a virgin?" 35. The angel answered and said to her, "The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; and for that reason the holy Child shall be called the Son of God. 36. "And behold, even your relative Elizabeth has also conceived a son in her old age; and she who was called barren is now in her sixth month. 37. "For nothing will be impossible with God." 38. And Mary said, "Behold, the bondslave of the Lord; may it be done to me according to your word." And the angel departed from her. Mary, Did You Know…? Mary, Did You Know?

Conclusion We may not exactly know every detail that Mary knew,
A Specific Request Conclusion We may not exactly know every detail that Mary knew, but Mary knew Who Jesus is, that He is the Son of God! She treasured the things that transpired and were said of Jesus and pondered on them, so didn’t know everything that would happen! Luke 2:19 (Luke 2:51) 19. But Mary treasured all these things, pondering them in her heart. Lk. 2:51: His mother kept all these things in her heart Mary, Did You Know? Prepared by Nathan L Morrison /

Conclusion She was carrying the child of God and while she may not
A Specific Request Conclusion She was carrying the child of God and while she may not have foreknown the miracles He would do she knew He was able to do anything He wanted to! If she was familiar with prophecies in Scripture she could have known much of what Jesus went through and did as it was foretold before Jesus even came to walk on the Earth (Luke 24:44-48). She knew He would be a Savior (Mt. 1:21), even knew she would suffer pain as if pierced with a sword (Lk. 2:34-35) but may not have known what all that would entail! (Jn. 19:26-27: At the foot of the cross of her Son) She knew He could perform miracles and instructed the servants at Cana, “Whatever He says to you, do it!” (John 2:1-11) She believed in Him and is counted amongst His disciples after His resurrection and ascension (Acts 1:12-14) Mary, Did You Know? Prepared by Nathan L Morrison /
20
Conclusion It really doesn’t matter what Mary knew before hand or not, it matters what one does with the knowledge of Jesus after His sacrifice for sins! Jesus has promised to save those who obey Him! (Mark 16:16; Hebrews 5:9) Have you come to know Him and obey Him? Let us have the humble heart of Mary and say, “Behold, the bondslave of the Lord” and obey Him! (Luke 1:38) Mary, Did You Know?
