Locate on a world and regional political-physical map: Huang He (Yellow River), Mekong River, Chang Jiang (Yangtze River), Andaman Sea, Bay of Bengal, Indian Ocean, Pacific Ocean, Sea of Japan, East China Sea, South China Sea, Yellow Sea, Gobi Desert, Taklimakan Desert, Plateau of Tibet, Himalayan Mountains, and Korean Peninsula. The student will locate on a regional map key geographic features in East Asia

East Asia The region known as Asia received its name from Europeans Countries that were not too distant from the east of Europe were called the Middle East Countries that were a long distance from the east of Europe were referred to as the Far East Today what Europeans once called the Far East is known as “East Asia”
