1 Review: Complements A direct object is a noun or pronoun that tells who or what receives the action of the verb. Example: My brother bought a wallet. An indirect object is a noun or pronoun that comes between the verb and the DO. Example: My brother bought my dad a wallet. Write the sentences below. Write D.O. above the direct object and I.O. above the indirect object. 1. We made our parents a scrapbook for their anniversary. 2. My uncle gave my sister ice skates.

2 Review: Complements A predicate nominative is a word in the predicate that identifies the subject. Example: That man is a writer. A predicate adjective is a word in the predicate that describes the subject. Example: That man is young. Write the sentences below. Circle the subject complements and identify them as P.N. or P.A. 1. After the long hike, the Scouts felt sore. 2. The water in the pool looked clean and fresh.
