7. How do I get the remaining Ruskin Respect Badges
Creativity – Other (Bronze)
Creative work on display – e.g. Creative Homework on Ruskin Instagram – see tutor, Mr Brand or Mr Oliver for signature
Perform in an academy event – House or whole school, including back stage
Work alongside an ‘Arts’ practitioner – e.g. attend a workshop in Art or Performing Arts (e.g. Young Americans or Lincolnshire Music service)
Other Possibilities outside school life:
Performing in an Arts / Performing Arts based show or competition outside of school – e.g. dance competition / drama production / compering etc
Receive awards in creative subjects within Guides / Scouts etc.
(This is not an exhaustive list but should give you an idea of what we mean by ‘creativity’)

8. How do I get the remaining Ruskin Respect Badges
Community – Other (Bronze)
Represent the academy in an external community event – e.g. help at a presentation evening / open evening / parents evening / tours of school etc
Participate in student council meeting
Participate in an event run by the student council such as: Food bank donation, Children in Need event, Christmas card collection, Rotary shoe box collection, Swimarathon etc
Be an active Reading Ambassador in school
Be a member of the Inspire plus/Ruskin Sport leadership programme
Other Possibilities outside school life:
Helping with an external community group – scouts / dance club
Helping in a community event e.g. Bag Packing / Meals on Wheels / Litter Pick
(This is not an exhaustive list but should give you an idea of what we mean by ‘community’)

9. How do I get the remaining Ruskin Respect Badges
Health – Other (Gold)
Be a member of an Academy Sports team
Research Healthy Living and design a PowerPoint or comprehensive poster on this
Other possibilities outside school life:
Show evidence of consistent dedication (i.e. weekly) to a sport/healthy activity outside school – e.g. Badminton Club / Horse Riding / Running / Hill Walking
Compete at regional, county or national level at a sport
(This is not an exhaustive list but should give you an idea of what we mean by ‘health’)  

10. How to get signatures from activities outside school?
To get any activity singed off that has been undertaken outside of school life, parents/ carers need to write a note in their child’s planner, briefly explaining the activity that has been completed.
Their tutor will then sign the appropriate box in Ruskin Respects.
For your information, the ‘other’ category in Community (Bronze), Creativity (Bronze) and Health (Gold) can now count for up to three signatures.

11. Personal Project - How do I achieve this?
Choose a topic you are interested in
This ‘could’ be a topic from the top tier of one of your subject’s homework mats
Or it could be anything that you are interested in
Spend a minimum of 10 hours on the project
Complete the Portfolio file and paperwork you receive from Student Reception will consist of:
3 summaries of your research
Your own notes (Annotated or highlighted)
Your PowerPoint or presentation notes
An evaluation of the process of the learning
Confirmation of Completion signed by appropriate people
Present your project to the appropriate panel in the boardroom – 5 minutes (10 minutes max)
The EPQ (with Mr Jackson) or HPQ (with Mrs Shelford) are equivalent to a Gold Standard projects, so only this is required. However a short presentation to the panel will still need to occur to get each level of award.

12. Rooted in Reading - How do I achieve this?
Do appropriate colour Rooted in Reading in Passport for appropriate level Baccalaureate
Green = Bronze Bac
Red= Silver Bac
Grey = Gold Bac

13. What do I do next? Show your finished portfolio to your tutor
He/she will log it on the system
Show your finished passport to your tutor who will log it on system
Mr Oliver / Ms Cipieres will then contact you to do you presentation
You will have 2 weeks notice

14. What do I do next? How do I know I have passed successfully?
You will attend the presentation of your project in the boardroom with:
Your 5 Ruskin Respect badges
Reading Passport
Your portfolio
You will do a 5 minute presentation to the panel
The panel will then make a decision and you will be informed within 7 days

15. How will you be rewarded?
Experience a sense of achievement
A nationally recognised certificate
A special Ceremony (with parents)
Baccalaureate badge
