3 Bell Ringer Honors: What is the grossest food you’ve ever tried/eaten? How old were you? Describe the experience with sensory details. English 3, before I give you your Bell Ringer I have something for you to see first. So, get out your binders and open your journals so you’re ready when the time comes. English 3: If the world as we knew it were to fall today, right now, where would you go? What would you do? Meaning, either due to a cataclysmic natural disaster or a man-made one, all laws, resources, and luxuries are either gone or almost down to nothing. What would be your (realistic) survival plan?

8 About the Author The Road won the 2007 Pulitzer Prize for Literature
Research fellow in mathematics and science at the Santa Fe Institute According to McCarthy, his son helped him write The Road. He uses simple sentences and minimal punctuation.

9 Raised Roman Catholic First published sometime around 1957 Very private—has only submitted to one interview Recipient of many grants, which he lived on while he wrote. Also had various jobs—auto mechanic, Air Force, radio show, Did find not find huge literary success until 1992, with All the Pretty Horses. Has published 10 novels, including All the Pretty Horses, The Crossing, Cities of the Plain, No Country for Old Men, and The Road.
