Lived in Jakarta, Barcelona and now Taipei Studied theatre so keen interest in performing arts 13 years experience

4 My Teaching Philosophy
Students need a safe and positive environment, where they feel that they can express ideas and opinions. I believe that students learn best when they are challenged and stimulated by a range of teaching styles. Students respond well to structure and consistency.

5 Grade 1 Treasures Practice Book (PB) and Grammar Book (GB)
1 notebook (HWB1) English folder Quiz: 1 every 2 weeks (EACH THEME) (Friday) Reading Card and Question Time (RCQT) Midterm (not counted) and Final test Spelling bee competition Homework : spelling, vocabulary, grammar, reading, and review. End of Theme topic writing English Journal : Monday and Thursday The students will be expected to write based on a writing prompt.

Treasures Classes 4 whole group classes. T1 and T2 each has 6 classes a week including Grading Treasures Grades 1 Semester 1 Sept-Jan Writing Projects 20% Homework & Assignments 40% Participation 15% Responsibility 5% Oral Tests

9 Semester At-a-Glance 4-5 themes per unit 2 weeks per theme

10 Breakdown of Treasures
Day 1 Introduction Vocabulary, prior knowledge, Q&A Day 2-9 General teaching of the theme Day 10 Quiz Preview the next theme In these 9 days, we also need to go over PB, GB, preview and organize homework, group work, creative writing…etc

11 Quiz (every theme) 1st semester practice quiz taking Focus: Vocabulary
Phonics Skills Grammar Review (SB, PB, GB, WS, English folder, HWB) PPT we upload

12 Corrections Teacher checks correction in blue
Student completes work Teacher marks errors in red and shows student Student makes correction in different color Teacher checks correction in blue

13 Tests (oral, written) Oral: in pairs or one-on-one with the teacher
Written: longer than quiz Focus: unit review 2 times per semester 1st semester: only count the oral test bin the Final Oral 20 Skill 4 Phonics 14 Grammar 20 Writing 6 Reading 6 Spelling dictation 10 Listening 20 Total 100
