SPECIALITY TRAINING COURSES
IN ORDER TO BE ABLE TO TEACH IN THE ROMANIAN SYSTEM OF EDUCATION it is compulsory for teachers to have attended/completed: SPECIALITY TRAINING COURSES Psycho - pedagogical mode : - psychology - pedagogy - TEACHING methodology - teaching practice EVALUATION OF SCHOOL LEADERSHIP AND TEACHING PRACTICE

CAREER DEVELOPMENT First DEGREE IN EDUCATION
SECOND DEGREE IN EDUCATION DEFINITIVE/permanent DEGREE IN EDUCATION AFTER MINIMUM 2 YEARS OF ACTIVITY IN THE SPECIALTY (BUT NO MORE THAN 5 YEARS) AT LEAST 4 YEARS OF ACTIVITY IN THE SPECIALTY HAVE TO PASS AFTER OBTAINING DEFINITIVE/permanent DEGREE AT LEAST 4 YEARS OF ACTIVITY IN THE SPECIALTY HAVE TO PASS AFTER OBTAINING SECOND DEGREE EVALUATION OF SCHOOL LEADERSHIP AND TEACHING PRACTICE

DEFINITIVE/permanent DEGREE IN EDUCATION
It is a compulsory requirement to occupy a permanent position in the educational system and become a tenure teacher a teacher cannot become tenure unless he/she passes the definitive degree exam within the first 5 years of teaching In case of failure, he/she works as a substitute teacher. The stages are to take place throughout a single school year - two class inspections in specialty -portfolio ( CV, intention letter, school progress report, curriculum planning, lesson plans, sample tests) -national exam ( on april ) Passing grade : at least 8 EVALUATION OF SCHOOL LEADERSHIP AND TEACHING PRACTICE

SECOND DEGREE IN EDUCATION
Candidates are allowed to enrol for taking the exam of second degree in education at least 1 year after obtaining definitive/ permanent degree . The stages are to take place throughout a 3 year-period stages: - three speciality inspections - exam ( in august, organised at specialised training departments within university centres) Passing grade : at least 8 EVALUATION OF SCHOOL LEADERSHIP AND TEACHING PRACTICE

The stages are to take place throughout a 4 year-period stages: - three speciality inspections - a research paper ( coordinated by a university professor ) Passing grade: at least 8 Candidates are allowed to enrol for taking the exam of first degree in education immediately after obtaining the second degree EVALUATION OF SCHOOL LEADERSHIP AND TEACHING PRACTICE

Equating the scientific Ph.D. title with first degree
Teachers who have obtained both the definitive/permanent degree in education and a ph.d. degree in speciality are entitled to apply for the procedure of equating ph.d. with first degree The stages are to take place throughout a school year : stages: - two speciality inspections ( the second inspection includes a university professor as member of the commission ) EVALUATION OF SCHOOL LEADERSHIP AND TEACHING PRACTICE

Following the transition to a higher academic degree, a teacher’s salary increases accordingly
