4. The Challenge Challenge Statement:
Transformative technologies drive change… whether evolutionary, revolutionary or disruptive. Ontario is seeking transformative technologies that offer cost-effective greenhouse gas reductions for manufacturing and industrial processes to drive systemic transformations across sectors, and position Ontario as a global leader in building a low-carbon future.

Established companies
Entrepreneurs/Start-ups
Academics/Students
Inventors
International entries welcome
Teams must commit to working in Ontario
Competition funds must be spent on scope of work to be executed in Ontario
Participation in the 2030 Challenge does not affect eligibility for other OCE programs

6. Target Market Large industrial facilities in Ontario
Cap and trade participants OR a sector with substantial emissions at multiple sites in Ontario
Entries could help these facilities reduce: Direct emissions, indirect emissions, value chain, transportation (fleet management), GHG capture/conversion
