Beaker a liquid-measuring container. Measures volume. Has a beak

Flask Erlenmeyer flask
Holds liquids, some can measure volume has a neck so that a stopper can be used.

Graduated cylinder Graduated cylinder - measures approximate volume of liquids. Best way to measure volume of a liquid.

Test tubes and more Test tube is used as a holder of a small amount of liquid. (not to measure) Test tube brush Test tube rack Test tube holder

Tongs & Forceps Tongs - similar function to forceps, but are useful for larger items Forceps - holds or used to pick up small objects

Slide & cover slip Slide- Rectangular thin piece of glass used to hold specimen to be viewed in a microscope. Cover slip- a thin flat square piece of transparent material (glass). It holds the specimen in place, and it protects the microscope’s objective lens. Goes on top of specimen. If making a wet mount water is placed on top of the specimen then cover slip

Bunsen Burner & Hot plate
Hot plate- Used to heat up substances. Bunsen burner- Has an open flame and also used to heat up materials

Dropper & Pipette Droppers - for addition of liquids, drop by drop.
Pipette - Used to transfer substances into another vessel. Can be used for accurate measurement of small amounts of liquids.

Petri Dish & Spatulas Petri dish is a shallow glass or plastic round lidded dish. Spatulas can serve as a scoop. (spoon)
