These ads are all examples of niche marketing
A niche market is a small target market that can be clearly identified, usually by demographic or psychographic information.
7
Niche markets are narrow but important
Companies that serve niche markets can usually charge more money—so even though niche markets are small, they can be very profitable for a company.
8
Example Niche Market #1: Business Travel
People who travel on business can fit into several different niches, depending on the type of job they have and how long their trip is. However, all business travelers have certain needs that overlap.
9
Example Niche Market #2: Honeymooners
Although newly married couples traveling on their honeymoons may look for different experiences, they also have some needs in common.
10
Example Niche Market #3: Families
Families with young children are looking for different things in their vacation than couples or adults traveling without children.
11
Example Niche Market #4: Hobby/Sports Travel
People who have a particular hobby or sport they pursue (like cooking or bird watching) may choose to design a trip around that activity.
12
Niche markets change over time
All niche markets change; for example, today’s newlyweds enjoy different kinds of trips than couples 50 years ago. Also, new niche markets develop as new trends take over.
13
Market trends can create new niche markets
Some new niche markets include: Ecofriendly travel People who travel with their pets Technologically savvy travelers
