English 4 credits English I, II, III & IV Math 4 credits Math I, II, III & Adv Math *some foundation math classes may be substituted 5/3/2018

3 Graduation Requirements
Science 3 credits Earth/AP Environmental, Biology, Physical Science/Chemistry Social Studies 4 credits World History, American I, American II, Civic/Econ or AP US History and a 4th social studies elective course can replace American I &II 5/3/2018

4 Graduation Requirements
Health/PE 1 credit Electives 9 credits Minimum Total 26 credits *Remember that foreign language courses are not required to graduate high school 5/3/2018

5 Senior Honors In 2016 RHS has transitioned to the Latin Academic Honors System. There are 3 distinct categories for eligibility: Cum Laude, Magna Cum Laude and Summa Cum Laude.   CUM LAUDE distinction means to graduate with “honor”, earning a cumulative Grade Point Average ranging from MAGNA CUM LAUDE distinction means to graduate with “great honor”, earning a cumulative Grade Point Average ranging from 5/3/2018

6 Senior Honors . SUMMA CUM LAUDE distinction means to graduate with “highest honor”, earning a cumulative Grade Point Average ranging from 4.25 and higher.   5/3/2018

7 Senior Honors NORTH CAROLINA ACADEMIC SCHOLARS
Is designed to encourage students to complete an academically challenging high school program. To qualify for this special recognition, students must earn 24 units in a college preparatory course of study, having met specific advanced academic courses while maintaining an overall four-year, un-weighted 3.5 or higher cumulative Grade Point Average. 5/3/2018

8 Senior Class Ranking Dates
Beginning Rank: September 26, 2016 Mid-Year Rank: February 10, 2017 Senior Honors Rank: April 21, 2017 (Senior Honors Rank is calculated through the 3rd nine weeks of the senior year) Final Rank: June 15, 2017 5/3/2018

9 Senior Exam Exemptions
Seniors may be exempted from exams if the following criteria are met: “A” average with 3 or fewer absences for the course. “B” average with 2 or fewer absences for the course. “C” average with 1 or fewer absences for the course. All absences count in the exemption absence total except for school-sponsored field trips, activities, and approved college days. No senior can be exempted from a State EOC test or CTE final exam. Teachers will determine eligible seniors in each class based on the above criteria. 5/3/2018

10 Senior Exam Exemptions
Time missed for school related activities (school sponsored field trips and sports related trips approved by the principal), religious holidays approved by the school board, and pre-scheduled guidance appointments will not be considered absences. Students are permitted two college visits per year. Additional days missed due to visiting a college campus on “College Days” will be considered an absence. 5/3/2018

11 Senior Dues REQUIRED EXPENSES
Senior Dues $40 (Graduation Ceremony, Awards Ceremony, Senior Breakfast, Diploma Covers, Class Gift) **Online payment for Senior dues is linked on the RHS website. Cap, Gown, and tassel (est. $70) Miscellaneous Fines (Parking, missing text book, media center fines, previous school fines) 5/3/2018

12 Senior Fees MID-YEAR GRADUATES
Senior Dues $20 (Senior Breakfast, Graduation Ceremony, Senior Gift, Diploma Covers, Programs) Senior Fees and other school dues will need to be paid by December 9th. Graduation Date: January in the RHS Auditorium 5/3/2018

16 Out-of-State Colleges/Scholarships
Sending Transcripts In-State Colleges Transcripts for in-state colleges should be sent using the Transcript Manager in your account. Transcripts will be ready to send out after the first 20 days of school. Out-of-State Colleges/Scholarships Transcripts to out of state colleges and scholarships are sent only through the Scriborder website: Some requests may incur fees. The fee schedule is listed on the start page of the order process.
