The long awaited unit for centralising neonatal intensive care in North Wales is now being built at Glan Clwyd Hospital near Rhyl and will be fully open in Spring 2018.
The SuRNICC will be the largest neonatal unit in North Wales and we will support two Special Care Baby Units in Wrexham and Bangor . We will be the focal point of the network of newborn care across North Wales.
Our spacious, state of the art new building, will have:
5 intensive care cots, 5 high dependency cots and 9 special care cots
a highly trained and professional workforce
consultant led care for sick and preterm infants above 26 weeks gestation from across North Wales and beyond
a 12 hour neonatal transport service
superb on site parent accommodation with Ty Croeso
SuRNICC will deliver the highest quality care for our very special patients and their families. We work closely with the neighbouring Neonatal Networks in North West England and are committed to the ongoing development of the service, including the teaching and training our staff. We aim to develop a neonatal service that North Wales can be proud of!
