Why was the Essentials Course developed? Background Saddleback Church has served churches all over the world introducing them to a lifestyle for becoming healthy, growing spiritually and physically as they gather more souls into the Kingdom. This lifestyle has developed to what we call Purpose Driven. The Purpose Driven Church (PDC) paradigm was started with Rick Warrens' book “The Purpose Driven Church” and has been taught nationally and internationally to church pastors and leaders. Tens of thousands of churches have implemented the process and strategy. Saddleback has set out to develop an implementation training tool that is affordable and transportable; a tool that doesn’t rely on exclusively Saddleback’s knowledge and insights, but draws on the rich resource of PD Churches all over the world. This interactive, group training course is the result. It guides churches through PDC implementation with shared insights from others in your network. Scope of Training The course was planned to introduce the essential characteristics of a healthy church. It is designed to systematically introduce the implementation steps in a logical order. Finally it is designed to offer flexible learning objectives, so that the course experience is valuable whether a church is at a crawl, walk, or run stage . Economical “Attendance” Attendance in the course is online from you location to link up with a n online group, hosted by a facilitator seasoned in training the principles. 2/1/2016 INTRODUCTION Purpose Driven Essentials Training v3.1
