1. New Business – Proposal For Approval of SR3 For Addendum to API 6ACRA

2. Background Special Metals has requested this change.
Alloy 945 and its higher strength modification, Alloy 945X, have been covered by the same UNS number, UNS N09945 in API 6ACRA and ISO 15156/NACE MR0175.
In 2015, Special Metals requested and received a unique UNS number, UNS N09946, for Alloy 945X.
Additionally, Special Metals has successfully balloted UNS N09946 for inclusion in ISO 15156/NACE MR0175 with a new higher hardness maximum.
In conjunction with these changes, the recently released API 6ACRA 1st Edition now needs to be revised to add an addendum to incorporate the requirements for UNS N09946.
This change will enable equipment manufacturers and oil and gas producers to specify UNS N09946 in accordance with API 6ACRA, thereby reducing the risk of the material being embrittled by the presence of an excessive level of deleterious phases.

3. Action Required Today – Approval of the SR3
ISO is expected to issue a Technical Circular to /NACE MR0175 in Q1 or Q2 that will add UNS N09946 into the document
An approved SR3 is needed to allow the API TG for API 6ACRA to activate to take action on this issue
However, the API TG for 6ACRA will not move forward and work on this limited change to API 6ACRA until UNS N09946 has been formally added to ISO 15156/NACE MR0175
The action required today is API SC6 approval of the proposed SR3
Thus, a motion is made to approve the SR3 .
