In line collection point for desired contaminant
Purpose
Collection of particulate matter
Serves as “capture” point of sampling train for later analysis

Collects “all” dust present in the sampled air, including respirable particulates
Respirable Dust(2 stage cassette, cyclone)
Collects only dust particles which are respirable

5. Filter Media-PVC Method of Operation
Filter pad is gravimetrically analyzed pre and post sampling
Initial measurement is subtracted from final measurement, giving total of particulate collected
With sampling time and flow rate, analysis of contaminant concentration can be made

Rotameter
Flow is calibrated against ball “floating” in air in the chamber
