2 Fundraising ‘Dress Down’ Friday 30 September 2016
Students who wish to participate in the Fundraising ‘Dress Down’ Friday 30 September are asked to pay £1 to come to school casually dressed.  Students who do not wish to participate should come to school wearing school uniform.  Monies collected will be split – Two thirds donated to charity whilst the remaining one third will go to the School Fund. This is a normal Learning and Teaching day, please remember to bring your school bag and all equipment eg PE kit.

3 Apprentice Information Days Saturday 5 November & Sunday 4 December
Torness Power Station is holding information days about its very successful Engineering Maintenance Apprenticeship scheme on Saturday 5 November and Sunday 4 December to let prospective recruits know more about the programme. There will be three sessions on each day at 9:30, 11:00 and From studying at HMS Sultan in Portsmouth for the first two years, to what qualifications are needed and how to apply, the information day will prove invaluable to anyone considering a career in engineering maintenance. The information days will take place at Torness Power Station in the Visitor Centre and will last roughly 1.5 hours. RSP Consulting Engineers LLP Building Services Engineering – Mechanical Apprentice This is a four year apprenticeship within an Edinburgh based Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Consulting Engineers practice. The role will include learning and implementing the design of Mechanical Building Services including CAD, Building Information Modelling (BIM), thermal modelling, design calculations, general administration and report writing. The successful applicant will be expected to attend college part time to work towards an HNC. On successful completion consideration will be given for further part time education to BSc/BEng, depending on HNC results. Trainee scheme in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying or Construction Management Our trainee scheme will give you the opportunity to train as a Civil Engineer, Quantity Surveyor or Construction Manager. From day one our scheme is designed to give you the best mentored, relevant and practical experience in parallel with academic study. Applicants to Civil Engineering must achieve Highers at ABBB with Maths, Physics or Technological Studies at B.
