3. Members have access to sheep magazines and e-mail news from ASI and MN Lamb & Wool Producers.
The association sponsors a Spring Workshop, ongoing studies and our annual Shepherds’ Holiday.

4. A discount buying program has been set up with retailers such as Sydell.
The MLWP supports:

Booth at the Shepherds’ Harvest Festival
Commercial Building booth at the MN State Fair
Baa Booth in the open class sheep barn at the State Fair.

promotes youth activities
and events. Support is given
for starter flock scholarships,
4-H and FFA programs.
We join ASI each year in
Washington, D.C. to lobby for the sheep industry. We are in contact with MN legislators.

8. Columbias were developed in Laramie, WY by crossing Lincoln x Rambouillet.
In 1918, the government moved the then purebred flock to the Sheep Experiment
Station in Dubois, ID.
Dual purpose breed, known for quality, dense fleeces and thick muscling for meat.
