Key information There are two ELC qualifications in Science:
Entry Level Certificate in Science Entry Level Certificate in Further Science ELC Science: consists of 6 units of content The units covered are: B1A, B1B, C1A, C1B, P1A, P1B ELC Further Science: consists of 6 further units of content The units covered are: B2A, B2B, C2A, C2B, P2A, P2B The content covered in ELC Science and Further Science is closely matched to the content in GCSE Combined Science.

GCSE Combined Science and ELC
The content covered in each GCSE Combined Science paper has been split into two parts for the ELC. Each of these parts makes up a new paper for the ELC tests as shown below. E.g. content in GCSE Combined Science B1, is redeveloped for ELC and covered in units B1A and B1B.
