Fluoride Varnish- Does it really work?
Fluoride varnish when added to caregiver counseling reduces early childhood caries incidence. [J Evid Based Dent Pract. 2011] Fluoride varnish should be part of caries prevention programmes. Asthma. Anecdotal evidence that severe asthmatics who inhale varnish may be susceptible to allergic reaction? Reality: patients with severe asthmatics receive fluoride varnishes regularly at dental offices with no reported cases of adverse outcomes. Allergy to fluoride varnish. There is no evidence of cross allergenicity to tree nuts Given at the dentist in the last two weeks History of nausea to fluoride varnish Ulcerative viral lesions or obvious painful mouth sores Primary herpetic gingiva stomatitis
