1 All of Government (AoG) contracts for Schools
June 2016 Good morning to you all...lovely to be here in the beautiful Queenstown and can imagine you have been all having an amazing time here during the conference. Thank you Ros for inviting me here to share with you all What AoG contracts are, the benefits and most importantly how these contracts may be able to help you when researching products for your schools and how you can receive god Value for Money. I am in Schools across the country on a regular basis talking with Principals and Business Managers of schools around how these contracts can help schools achieve great savings as well as time spent on the finding the right product for the school. What I have seen alot is that the PA’s/Secretaries of the schools are involved in this process.

2 What are AoG contracts? Ministry of Business, Innovation & Employment (MBIE) have harnessed off the collective buying power of over 3000 government agencies including schools. In return Government has positioned itself as a customer of choice through the AoG contract model and is able to achieve substantial cost savings resulting in direct savings for your school. The contracts are held on behalf of the Crown between MBIE and the selected supplier panels Where MBIE have harnessed off the collective buying power of over 3000 government agencies including schools. Government has positioned itself as a customer of choice through the All of Government contract model and is able to achieve substantial cost savings resulting in direct savings for your school

3 Common facts around AoG contracts
538 schools now participating within one or more contract Returning an average savings of 15% savings All State and integrated schools are eligible AoG contracts are not mandatory and you have the choice to “pick and choose” which contracts will deliver best value to your school You are only obligated to purchase the selected products on the AoG catalogues within all contracts. However all suppliers are happy to talk with your school around non AoG products. You will not be locked in, there are options to exit a contract if you wish.

10 Lytton High School Raymond Pereira – Business Manager at Lytton High School - Gisborne “We initially looked at the Print contract and were so impressed by the savings and the seamless experience we had with both MBIE and the supplier that we have now progressed and signed for several other contracts. I totally recommend your school to take a look at AoG and hope you can make the type of savings we have achieved here at Lytton High School” With the Print contract we have achieved a $130 to $140k savings over the life of the 5 year contract – (about a $26k to $30k a year) They had 36 months to go on their existing contract and with the help of MBIE working with the supplier the termination charges were erased and a new AoG contract was put in place. To enable them to achieve this they did remain with the incumbent. They have also received a cost savings analysis for Travel and IT hardware. With taking these contracts into account they envisage approx savings of $50K per year for our School. Lytton High School already use AoG Office Supplies.

11 How to sign up? Submit non disclosure agreement online (this does not sign you up to a contract but gives you access to view pricing and begin the process to see if this works for your school) Step 1: Go to procurement.govt.nz – NZ Schools page Once you have completed registering your school MBIE will be send you a login to inSource ( this is a web based library of all contracts) Step 2: When you are ready to sign up, contact the CoE , a Letter of Accession (LoA) will be ed to you for your principal to sign. This letter commits your school to the terms and conditions of the contract selected. Every time you want to join a new AoG contract, you will have to sign a specific LoA.
