Stages There are two stages to the formal College Disciplinary Procedure: Initial stage = Misconduct Final Stage = Serious Misconduct Gross Misconduct – a single serious breach of student expectations leading to suspension or expulsion.

What does BTEC Involve? Extended Diploma 18 units equivalent to 3 A levels Diploma 12 units equivalent to 2 A levels Certificate 6 units equivalent to 1 A level Level 2 learners have two exams which they must pass Work experience Homework & private study approx hrs per week Vocational Excellence “ be inspired to achieve”

How will students be assessed
Mainly coursework at level 3 except Science ( 2 exams 1 controlled assessment) Level 2 learners have two exams which they must pass Assessment has two phases learning phase (formative), assessment phase (summative) One resubmission is allowed per assignment with limited feedback if the teacher feels the student can improve. Each unit will be split into 4 assignments Students will be assessed using reports, practical observations/assessments, presentations and word documents

Plagiarism Plagiarism is much more than simple copying from another student, or from books, or from the internet. Ultimately, plagiarism is attempting to pass off other people’s work and ideas as your own. Consequences: During the learning phase - internal discipline Assessment phase – a retake. This limits the grade to a pass

What is the Parent Portal?
ProPortal is the electronic Individual Learning Plan (ILP) system used to view, record and track a wide range of information Progress on courses and assessment marks Targets for development. Personal details Attendance, Exam timetable Parental ProPortal is a place where you as a parent or carer can view much of this information. Logon details have been ed to parents Sharon

The first page you will see is the Dashboard Summary information such as Attendance and upcoming SMART targets are shown Sharon

The menus at the top will navigate you to information such as:
Learner Details including courses enrolled on and teachers Qualifications on entry to college Academic Information view grades for assignments or units on courses. Sharon

The Learner ILP This is completed by students in tutorial as well as staff when SMART targets are completed The information recorded includes: Progression planning – students goals Student review - students identify areas of strength and areas for improvement Attendance and Punctuality – This shows a summary of attendance and punctuality by group Sharon

Viewing Grades To view grades select academic information from the information menu and select a subject to view the grades for Sharon

On the assessments table you will see entered grades
Academic courses will show grade A-U and Vocational Courses will show P (pass), M (merit) or D (distinction): Green = Above target, Amber = In line with target, Red = Below target
