Purpose of the CNS Collecting and raising awareness about the achievements of NRNs Benchmarking Identification of useful NRN activities/examples across Europe Regular and systematic tracking of the progress within a separate NRN New added value: helping NSUs in the monitoring process by creating links between indicative links between the CNS and the mandatory indicators reported by NRNs

General finding Limited number of NRNs` activities funded from the EAFRD budget in 2014 and 2015. Activities realized in 2014 and 2015 funded still from budget, only marginal spending from budget NRNs started to operate from funding mostly during 2015 In some cases overlap of and funding (e.g. Hungary) or no spending from funding (Greece)

Website: Number of website visits 5,5x higher in 2015 (8,8million) than in 2014 (1,6million) Also used: Twitter (mostly in Scotland-around followers), YouTube Local social media e.g in Latvia Social media: Most frequent channel: Facebook (account/fan page of the NRN, Poland 7600 fans)

Publications: magazines, reviews, newsletters, leaflets, and e-publications number of publications 9x higher in 2015 (716) than in (78) In 2015 highest numbers of publications reported in Latvia (465), Estonia (74), Poland (72)

Multi-media & other communication tools: 310 films/videos & radio/TV broadcasts produced in 2015, Mostly in Poland (141) and Latvia (92) in 2015 Swedish NRN reported 17 outputs in and 33 outputs in available online at 9 competitions/awards (e.g. photo-competition; best LEADER project competition, etc.) organized in 2015 253 other communication tools such as: articles, advertisements, promotional materials (including gadgets, pendrives, pens, honey jars), roll ups, exhibition wall, information board, Smartfon Mobile application e.g. Welcome to Polish village

Good practices Good practice examples/case studies both collected and disseminated The overall number increased 7x from 66 (2014) to 469 (2015) The higher numbers in 2015 reported in Estonia (131) and Germany (90) Thematic focus mostly on LEADER/CLLD & LAGs (included cooperation) (P6) Reported examples of specific topics: aromatic and medicinal plants, rural heritage, village recovery, young rural entrepreneur, short supply chains , map of wine regions, Returnees - an issue for rural areas, female rural entrepreneurs.

In 2015, altogether 40 articles, good practice examples/case studies and other information items were provided to ENRD CP and EIP-AGRI Service Point Majority was provided by Estonian NRN (26) In 2015, in total 32 ENRD CP & Helpdesk or EIP-AGRI information items were translated and 93 items disseminated by NRNs to their wider membership The translation and dissemination is done in Estonia (24 transl., 78 dissem.), Portugal (8 transl. and dissem.), Wales (6 dissem.) and Malta (1 dissem.)

In 2015, altogether 509 training activities organized by the NSU/NRN, with participants: Workshops/trainings – in total 416, participants Field visits/ study trips – in total 82, participants Other activities - in total 12, participants Topics: RDP , use of rural resources and farms in education, activities of rural female organizations, social economy, use of sport and sport infrastructure in local development, rural entrepreneurship, public procurement, CORELDRAW programme skills
