Chapter Rebates SGA Service Fees are for optional services provided to societies by the Society Member & Committee Services Group of the IEEE. TINA: For the AES Society, we provide a New & Reinstated Member List and , on a monthly basis, which is charged to the Membership (HQ) GL account. Societies may choose additional optional services such as. elections, business cards, awards, etc. The charges for these additional services can vary depending on quantity and type. Year-to-date, the AES Society has incurred $2, charged to the Membership (HQ) GL account. This is broken out as follows: $240 for the New & Reinstated Member Lists and s ($30 x 8); $1, for the AES-S BoG Election RON: SGA Service fees for Membership (HQ) fees charged ($30 per month) the same for each IEEE society? I noticed that your states "optional services", please explain. AESS should have been billed and paid for 8 months x $30 = $240 for 2012 YTD.Is this correct?

Discussion 1. Active Chapters are involved with industry, students and technology 2. Marginal Chapters have stale membership and leaders - they need objectives and visits from AESS Board members and Distinguished Lecturers 3. Inactive Chapters have lost their way due to economic conditions, have less than a critical mass (< 50 members since only 20% of AESS Chapter membership attend meetings), technology shifts, etc. these Chapters need a rejuvenation program with the support of the local IEEE Section and Region.
