West Lothian Foodbank S3 Pupil Council is asking for your help with donations to the West Lothian Foodbank, to help families out over the festive season. A 3-day emergency supply includes: * Basic non-perishable foods * Essential toiletries It can also include: * Baby food * Pet food * Sweeties * Small toys If you can help, please bring any donation – howev er small, however basic – to the blue box in the foyer, manned by S3 council members, at breaks and lunches during this week. Items will be delivered to the foodbank on Tuesday 20December.

Word of the Week This week the word is onerous meaning difficult or troublesome. Use this word in a sentence like this; ‘Looking after a new puppy can be an onerous task’. For more information about Word of the Week check out the blue noticeboard in the library area.

SCHOOL CHRISTMAS CONCERT
Our School Christmas concert this year is being held on Wednesday 14th December at 7.00pm. Come along and get yourself in the festive spirit and enjoy performances from the hugely talented pupils and staff at Broxburn Academy. Tickets (£5) will be on sale in the BroxOffice at the front of the school every lunch time from Tuesday 6th – Wednesday 14th December. Alternatively by ing Mr McIntyre

Come to the Book Fair in your
school library Tuesday 6th December to Tuesday13th December. Books, stationery and posters all half price. The fair will be open every day all day. Bring some money. Treat yourself or buy Christmas presents for others at good prices. Dr Stewart

S1 FOOTBALL TEAM Training on Tuesday!!!
We have a match on Friday 16th December after school versus Whitburn Academy at Away The team sheet is up outside the PE base next to the games hall. If you CAN play, please tick your name off on the sheet. If you are UNABLE to play please let Mr McDonald or Mr Baird know asap please. Players will be required to pay £3 to cover costs of the referee. S4 – Babcock Engineering Work Experience
If you are interested in attending a work experience placement with Babcock at their Rosyth plant. The placements are being offered week commencing Monday 5th June and Monday 19th June. They are currently taking applications, so if interested speak to Ms McGregor ASAP.

The University of Edinburgh: Lecture on Cyber Security
15 December Opportunity to attend a lecture at Edinburgh University … great for applications and UCAS statement! The theme is "Cyber Security" and they may suit pupils with an interest in computing. These talks will take place 10 am – 12 noon and pm in our George Square Lecture Theatre, next to the main University Library, George Square, Edinburgh EH8 9LH. Cyber Security will be based on: * Digital Forensics * Ethical Hacking * Data Security These lectures, provided by industry experts, will bring the subject area to life in an educational but fun session.
